The main project objective is the realization of good practices models in order to improve the immigrants’ processes of social, cultural and labour integration.

Short description
« Integration » is a project within the Community Initiative (Equal II phase) whose tendencies concern the promotion of new methods to struggle every form of discrimination and inequalities within the labour market.
This project, within the Axis Employment, Measure 1.2 – To prevent racist and xenophobic phenomena - will develop actions of sensitization in order to intervene on the issues related to the social and labour aspects of integration for immigrants of 1st and 2nd generation, and in order to battle the phenomenon of discrimination, resolving then the negative aspects of the social system with regard to the necessities of integration of foreigners in the national territory. In that context, it will be important to intervene to sensitize the business and training contexts in order to carry out actions that can produce best practices with respect to the problems connected with the immigration

Short description
Volver Foundation (Stichting Volver ) and the Foundation Business Fund for Pharmacies (Stichting Bedrijfsfonds Apotheken/SBA) have taken the initiative to start this project for several reasons:
a) Higher unemployment of the non-western migrants in comparison with the Dutch autochthonous population;
b) Because of demographic development increasing need for pharmacies to hire migrant workers and lack of competences of the pharmacies to deal with this ethnic differences;
c) Increasing number of migrant-clients of the pharmacies. This asks intercultural competence for the workers in the pharmacy;
d) Increasing number of migrant students inside the education for pharmacy-assistants;
e) Low number of migrant-men working in the pharmacies and attending the school for pharmacy-assistant;
f) Insufficient competence of migrant-students and workers to work in a dominant white pharmacy.

Short description
First integrated intervention for the combat of racism and xenophobia in connection with the labour market in the Region of Western Greece.
Key elements: cultural mediation, foreigners support offices, cultural communities creation, sensitization of employers, local media sensitization.
Target group: foreigners (immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees, repatriates) living in the focus area (Region of Western Greece, i.e. Ilia, Achaia, Aetoloakarnania Prefectures)
Basic aim of the project that is initialized by the DP «network for the Promotion of Interculturalizm” is the combat of prejudice, the creation of infrastructures and the promotion of practices that will allow the as equivalent as possible behaviour to the workforce with different national and racial origin as to the ingenuous population in the labour market.
Furthermore it aims at the empowerment of the racially discriminated so as to accomplice their social integration.
